Gautier football’s Bryson Hurst signs with Ole Miss

National Signing Day turned into National Signing Days here on the Coast with Gautier’s Bryson Hurst putting pen to paper this afternoon and signing with Ole Miss.

The 6’6’, 340-pound offensive tackle held offers from 15 division I Power 5 programs including Mississippi State, Oregon, and Florida State.

Among his numerous accomplishments as a Gator, Hurst was a two-time All-State selection, named number one offensive tackle in Mississippi by 24/7 and is a Taki’s All-American.

After originally committing to Ole Miss then decommitting last month, Hurst took an official visit to Oxford in early December and that’s when the four-star recruit recommitted 110 percent to the Rebels. “I’m ready for the family feeling. I already got a glimpse of it when I went up there for my official. But pretty much I’m just ready to play. The goal is– you know, I want to be a Gautier legend. Retired jerseys and all of this stuff. The Hall of Fame, all of that.”

Gautier Head Football Coach Marc High said, “The main thing with him was just keeping him grounded because I mean when you are 6’6”, 340lbs and you can move the way he can, they were coming in from everywhere. We want to make this like a yearly deal. So, you know we’re going to keep pushing. We believe we’re going to have some kids come down the pipeline where this is going to be a yearly deal for us. So, you know, we’re looking forward to it.”
